Cannon Beach

We try to go to Cannon Beach each year at least once. We were married there, on the beach. We have lots of special memories from there.

This year we stayed with our good friends Erik and Kim, and their 3 munchkins.

The chef in action

showing his cutting skills
eating his creation, mac and cheese, broccoli, hot dogs, mushrooms

Everyone thinks their kid is cute, gifted, amazing, etc. We think Tegan is a natural chef. He has always loved playing with the kitchen. We have 3 play stoves for him. He learned the words; Boiling, Strainer, pasta, and spatula at a very early age. He's gifted. Yes, I think so. If I let him watch TV, he could sit and watch Rachel Ray for hours. He keeps me on my toes in the kitchen. He lets me know when water is boiling, to put the lid on, time to get the strainer...yada yada yada.

Today I let him use his plastic knives to help me cut things. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. At Art class, I heard the teacher say they use plastic cutlery in the little chefs class, and they cut about everything. So we tried it. A HUGE hit. Tegan is a big helper normally, but this takes it to a new level. He was so into it.

I was going to post a video, but I cannot get it to work!!

Boats, Buses and Beaches

Father's day was brilliant. It was so sunny and cheery. We decided to head to the waterfront and catch the Alki Water Taxi. A mere $3 for adults. We wanted to get to that big beach over in West Seattle! When we arrived, we realized...whoa. the beach is sort of far away. No worries though, a little Metro bus was waiting to take us to Alki Point. We jumped on and managed to convince the driver that our hugemongo wagon would fit. it did. we rode to the point, for free with our $3 boat ride. It was a long way considering we thought that we could walk there. Upon arriving at Alki, we were transported into a vacation dream land. shops, sun, scanitily clad people, snacks. It was GREAT! we went to the beach and layed out our blanket. I brought a ton of supplies in that wagon! we had a little picnic, looked at rocks and then headed for some ice cream. Back on the bus and then the boat and we arrived in downtown seattle to walk to our car. This felt like a HUGE adventure and of course, I cannot wait to take our friends the Meyers on it next time!

Pee Wee Picasso

TEgan started an art class today called Pee Wee Picassos. he made a painting with a golf ball rolling around in a tray. It was fun. we go for something like 10 weeks this summer. It is through bellevue parks and rec.
